A special welcome to everyone joining us in worship at Kingston today.

Matthew 9:1-13,18-36

…and where do we find Jesus?
In the “Company of Sinners”.

I love this phrase. It was adopted as the name of a missional theater company that toured through the schools of SA with their cutting edge and original plays, engaging students with the tough issues such as bullying, prejudice and harassment.

Thank God I’m not a sinner though…
Jesus should have nothing to do with a divorced man who probably drinks too much and who cusses profanely every time he hits his stupid thumb with a hammer…

Would he???
The reality is that devotee, disciple or degenerate, Jesus is in-discriminate where he devotes his time and grace. And he was criticized heavily for it. He was found in the company of sinners, people like…well… me! And the religious zealots told him to stay in his lane.

But these are His people. And so am I.
You are too!
Amazing…
