Notices 7th December 2025

A special welcome to everyone joining us in worship at Kingston today.

Isaiah 11:1-10

World peace.

What a word of comfort God offers through the prophet Isaiah 700 years before Jesus’ star appeared over Bethlehem. Conceptually, the peace which is prophesied is complete, global and even extends to all species, all creation, all the earth.

And the season of advent kinda works like that. We started last week with the word “Hope”. The goal of peace starts with hope and 2700 years on, we still hope for peace. We still yell at the aggressors of conflict through the telly saying,

“Stop the killing!”

Yet this is where Christ resides.
Christ resides in every heart that cares.
Christ resides in every act of diplomacy.
Christ resides in every action where a mutual concessions needs to happen for people to get along.
Christ resides in those who join the chorus of ,
“Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me…”
And piece by piece, the prophecy of peace is being fulfilled.
